This turmoil echoes a troubling trend seen over the past two decades, where Hindu minorities in Bangladesh have faced increasing violence and discrimination.
 
Reports indicate that political shifts often exacerbate existing tensions, leaving Hindus vulnerable amid rising Islamist influence.
 
As political power dynamics shift, minorities like Hindus have frequently been scapegoated, suffering from violence and social unrest.
 
The APPG warned that without urgent reforms to uphold human rights and judicial impartiality, Bangladesh risks further chaos, which could also impact the UK’s significant Bangladeshi diaspora, underscoring the need for international attention to these ongoing atrocities against vulnerable communities.
 
Warning against extremism is simply not enough!
 
Call for bans of UK-based organisations and sanctioning the government of Bangladesh is the least the UK government can do.
