Hindus have faced numerous genocides resulting in millions of lives lost. These genocides go back more than a thousand years and continue till today. From the Islamic invasions to the Bengal famine, to current-day atrocities in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India – The Hindu civilisation is under attack.
In the wake of the cruel and unwarranted violence unfolding in Bangladesh, we started scrambling for information regarding atrocities against Hindus. In the process, as is for many long articles these days, we sought the help of AI to reframe our writing for correct grammar. To our shock and surprise, we found most AI engines suffer to collate and correct relevant content. For instance, we encourage readers to try this experiment as well – prompt Gemini – Google’s AI to write a paragraph on “Hindu Genocide”. This is what comes up;
“Historical sources and genetic evidence do not support the existence of a Hindu genocide. There have been instances of violence against Hindus throughout history, but these events do not meet the definition of genocide. It’s important to use accurate and respectful language when discussing sensitive topics like this.”
Let’s try it with “Christian Genocide” – the engine promptly picks and enlists in bullet points the various genocidal events on Christians with the following disclaimer at the end – “It’s important to note that the term “genocide” is often controversial, and there is no universally accepted definition. However, the events listed above clearly meet the basic criteria for genocide, which include the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.”
Do note the subtle bias towards affirming the occurrence of genocide for these events.
One more try with “Muslim Genocide”. The pattern is the same, however, do note this misinformed disclaimer which notes India – “It’s important to note that these are just a few examples. Other Muslim populations have faced similar atrocities in countries like India, the Philippines, and the Central African Republic.”
While one can’t attribute deliberate bias to the AI engine itself, it does however highlight a set of significant problems:
- The deliberate or unacknowledged sources of information that summarise the responses to these prompts.
- The symptomatic problem of under as well as misreporting of genocide events of Hindus in human history.
- The elaborate reporting of non-genocidal events against Abrahamic faiths and forcibly fitting them under the definition of the term “Genocide”.
For instance, the Srebrenica massacre that occurred in 1995 where 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men were killed by the Bosnian Serb Republic army and the UN classed this as a genocide. However, for the decade-long persecution of Kashmiri Hindus around the same time period of the 90s, the UN has an ambiguous position. The numbers – 30,000 people had died in the conflict, of which only a handful could have been terrorists. This number does not consider the thousands who were forced to leave their homes and their daughters, wives or other female relatives to be left at the mercy of the Islamists who forcibly converted them to Islam or worse, raped and murdered them.
It took 3 years for Amnesty International to acknowledge and report the homes and temples of Kashmiri Hindus had been destroyed due to their faith. May we ask you, isn’t the same pattern being repeated for the Hindus in Bangladesh in the disguise of student protests? What is common between the events occurring 34 years apart, where Hindus are persecuted for their beliefs and the persecutors are the same, regardless of geography?
Besides, this is just one example of Hindu Genocide in recent history. The history of the Hindu genocide goes back to 637 AD when the Arabs first attacked West India to date, which goes to show the amount, intensity and consistency with which this has been happening. Therefore, the goal of this article is to only make the reader aware of the sheer scale and length of the history which is smeared in the blood of Hindus. The actual numbers, accurate references and events will be followed with a detailed report on the topic – Over a thousand years of Hindu Genocide – watch this space.
