Operation Sindoor, launched early morning of Wednesday, 7th May 2025, India time, is India’s latest military action in its ongoing war on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

The operation was in direct response to the Pakistan-backed terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday, 22nd April 2025, which killed 25 Indian nationals and 1 Nepali citizen. These innocent tourists were identified and segregated based on their religion. Asked to recite the Kalma (Islamic verses), some also had their trousers pulled down to check for circumcision and then were killed in cold blood, in front of their families, wives and children.Â
Billions across the globe are in mourning and still reeling in shock at the horror of yet another terrorist attack by Pakistan. India had announced to the world that they would go after the terrorists, terror modules and their sponsors.Â
Operation Sindoor was a meticulously planned military initiative aimed at dismantling and neutralising nine terrorist camps and infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir that were responsible for the Pahalgam attack. The operation underscores India’s determination to eliminate terrorism and ensure justice for the victims of these brutal acts.
The strikes were described as precise, measured, and non-escalatory, avoiding Pakistani military installations to prevent further escalation. Indian officials emphasised that the operation demonstrates India’s commitment to holding those responsible for the Pahalgam attack accountable, while also showing restraint in the selection of targets and execution methods.Â
Terrorism is a grave threat not just to India, but to international peace, security and harmony, destabilising regions and causing loss of life, economic disruption, and humanitarian crises.
India has been a consistent victim of cross-border terrorism for decades, with attacks often orchestrated by groups operating from Pakistan.
The USA, EU, and other global powers have recognised India as a vital partner in the fight against terrorism and have pledged support for its counter-terrorism actions.
There is a growing global consensus that nations must not allow their territories to be used for terrorist activities and must cooperate to bring perpetrators to justice. Pakistan has been harbouring, aiding and sending terrorists into India since 1947. In an interview with Sky News on 25th April 2025, Pakistan’s Defence Minister admitted and confessed that Pakistan has been supporting, funding and training terrorists for the last few decades.Â
Terrorism in India is not an isolated issue and is linked to global networks that can threaten any nation.
A united global stance signals zero tolerance for terrorism and strengthens international mechanisms to combat extremist threats everywhere.
