The world is no stranger to groups that operate under the guise of noble intentions, only to have hidden agendas that serve to harm rather than help the communities they claim to represent. One such group is the Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR), spearheaded by Mr Rajiv Sinha in the UK, whose actions have continuously targeted the Hindu community and India with malicious intent.
The Hypocrisy Behind Their Name
One of the most glaring ironies about Mr Sinha and the extreme left organisations like HfHR is their self-identification as advocates for Hindus. If they genuinely represented the Hindu community, they would focus on promoting the positive contributions and rich heritage of Hindus. Instead, their efforts are consumed by organising anti-Hindu events, disseminating hate-filled posts, and orchestrating seminars that fuel division and suspicion. A more fitting name for them would be “Anti-Hindus for Hateful Rhetoric“, reflecting their self-serving and malicious agenda, which is far removed from the values they claim to uphold.
The Dangerous Consequences of Hate Speech and a Disingenuous Concern
The rhetoric propagated by Mr Sinha and HfHR is not just harmful; it is dangerous. By intentionally linking the Hindu community and genuine Hindu organisations to negative propaganda—often without any factual basis—they expose Hindus to hatred, violence, and racist attacks. This type of speech is not merely inflammatory; it has real-world consequences for the safety and well-being of Hindus and the Indian community. People like Mr Sinha, through their organisations, create an environment of hostility where innocent individuals become targets of unwarranted fear and hatred.
Mr Sinha’s so-called concern about “Hindu supremacy” in the UK is disingenuous at best, and it serves as a convenient excuse to justify his harmful actions. The reality is that Hindus and Indians have made significant contributions to UK society. For instance, the Indian community is one of the largest contributors to the UK’s economy, particularly in income tax and national insurance contributions[1]. On the other hand, Hindus account for less than 0.4% of the overall prison population in the UK[2]. There is no threat from the Hindu community of any criminality whatsoever, there never has been. These facts dismantle Mr Sinha’s narrative and reveal the baselessness of his fear-mongering.
If Mr Sinha were truly concerned about the well-being of the UK, he would rather address real threats, such as the rise of Islamist and far-right extremism, which are still the biggest threat to peace in the UK.
Interestingly, his fixation on the Hindu manifesto further illustrates his ulterior motives. An MP candidate from the political party Mr Sinha is a member of, publicly endorsed the Hindu manifesto after reading it in full. So much so that they were fully supportive of every point in the manifesto. However, after receiving ‘advice’ from Mr Sinha, the candidate later retracted their endorsement and deleted the related social media posts. Our representatives were told the Manifesto is “perceived as support for Modi’s extremely right-wing government” and that discussions were taking place between Mr Sinha and the people behind the Hindu Manifesto – no surprises here as the supposed “discussion” never happened! This episode reveals Mr Sinha’s manipulative tactics, as his intention was never to engage in dialogue or understand the manifesto. Instead, his goal was to smear it, the community behind it, and the organisations supporting it. He misrepresented the manifesto as being connected to Indian politics when in reality, it had no such links.
Unveiling the Not-So-Hidden Agenda
Recent events have further exposed the malicious agenda behind Mr Sinha and HfHR. They falsely claim that the Leicester riots were triggered by misinformation spread by Hindus [3][4]. However, the recent arrest of Majid Freeman[5], is a clear indication of who the real instigators of misinformation were, something the Hindu community has always been clear on. Majid Freeman has been charged with “encouragement of terrorism” and for supporting a proscribed organisation [6]. Despite this, Mr Sinha continued to spread misinformation, publishing an article as late as July 24, 2024, that falsely linked the riots to Hindus and alleged international ties — exposing his clear agenda and anti-Hindu narrative.
Shockingly, Mr Sinha’s words mirrored those of Freeman, an individual charged with terror offences and known for sympathising with Hamas.
Moreover, while Mr Sinha and his organisation claim to stand for the Hindu community, their silence on the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh speaks volumes. It reveals their selective outrage, which is only reserved for cases that serve his vile narrative. It is possible they issue a generic statement, with riders, once they know Amnesty International[9] and the UN Secretary General[10] have raised their concerns about the violence against Hindus and other minority communities. After all, Sunita Viswanath, the Co-founder of HfHR in the USA is a board member of Amnesty International.
HfHR’s Sinister Connections
A bit of research into HfHR reveals troubling connections that further expose the organisation’s sinister motives. Since 2019, HfHR has been actively involved in anti-Hindu activities in the United States of America, organizing events that perpetuate their hateful agenda[7]. The links between HfHR’s co-founder and director, Sunita Viswanath, and George Soros, the notorious leftist, are particularly concerning[8]. It is widely alleged that George Soros is known globally for his malicious activities and extreme left ideology, famous for triggering instability in countries with democratically elected governments. His connection to HfHR underscores the dangerous nature of their collaboration.
A Call for Awareness and Action
Mr Sinha and his organisation HfHR represent a clear and present danger to the Hindu community, the Indian-origin people, and the values of tolerance, acceptance and inclusivity that define the UK. Their self-proclaimed identity as representatives of Hindus is a cruel irony, as their actions have consistently proven to be harmful and divisive. Their malicious agenda, hidden behind the mask of community advocacy, must be exposed and confronted. By raising awareness about their actions and holding them accountable, we can protect the Hindu and the Indian community from further harm. It is imperative that we recognise their true motives and the dangerous rhetoric, expose their malicious agenda, and work together to protect the values of peace and inclusivity that are vital for a harmonious society.
