On Sunday 31st of March, the Hindu community in Pakistan took to the streets demanding the recovery of a minor Hindu girl, Priya Kumari.

Rally held in Sindh, Pakistan to bring back kidnapped Priya Kumari

The group, Shaheed Bilqees Chandio organised a rally, demanding that the Pakistani government take serious action to find Priya Kumari, a Hindu minor who was abducted two and a half years ago.

Addressing the rally, eminent Lawyer Nisar Ahmed Chandio said that Priya Kumari, who belonged to a Hindu family of Sangar, disappeared two and half years ago and there has been no news of her since. Rajkumar and Veena Kumari have been looking for their daughter Priya Kumari and waiting in vain for some news of her.

This is not an individual case. Every year approximately 1,000 religious minority girls, mostly Hindu girls and women in Pakistan are abducted, raped and converted to Islam. Persecution and gross human rights violations of the minority Hindu community in Pakistan are being raised by several organisations worldwide.

INSIGHT UK has initiated an annual campaign every October, to raise awareness of the existential threat being faced by Hindus in Pakistan.

The Indian government recognising this issue, passed the CAA to facilitate speedy citizenship to the persecuted faith minorities of Pakistan.

The world needs to speak up for the persecuted and dwindling Hindu minority in Pakistan. We need to keep raising our voices for those who cannot be heard.
